Postseason Honors Rolling in for Curry

DAVIDSON, N.C.— Davidson guard Stephen Curry has been named one of 24 finalists for the Wooden Award and has been named first-team All-America by the U.S. Basketball Writer's Association (USBWA) and The Sporting News.
The nation's leading scorer, Curry is averaging 28.6 points a game to go along with 5.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 steals a contest. The two-time Southern Conference Player of the Year has become the league's and Davidson's career scoring leader and has moved up to 36th on the NCAA?Division I all-time scoring chart. He is the fourth Davidson player to earn USBWA All-America honors and the first since Mike Maloy in 1969.
Curry has already been named one of 15 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy (USBWA Player of the Year), one of the top-30 mid-season candidates for the Naismith Trophy and a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard.
Davidson will open its fifth straight postseason campaign in the NIT Tuesday, March 17, when the Wildcats travel to South Carolina for a 7 p.m. contest. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.
