DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Clare Perry and Jennie Mostellar combined for three goals and three assists to lead the Davidson Wildcat field hockey team to a 5-2 triumph over the Appalachian State Mountaineers in NorPac conference play Saturday afternoon at Belk Turf Field.
Perry, a junior from Winston-Salem, N.C., netted the Wildcats' first two goals of the game, the first on a penalty stroke, before hooking up with Mostellar in the 31st minute. After Appalachian State cut the 'Cats lead to 3-2, Mostellar fed sophomore Hannah English (Louisville, Ky.) for the Wildcats' fourth goal, and the pair hooked up a final time in the 63rd minute for the team's final score.

ASU rallied with goals in the 44th and 55th minutes to pull within one. Kelly Allaband tallied the first, assisted by Jenn Heiss, while Lauren Kloeppinger scored the second, assisted by Allaband.
The 'Cats were able to add two insurance goals to secure the win. Mostellar found English on a play that started off a penalty corner in the 59th minute before Perry found Mostellar for a in the 63rd minute.
