Davidson Earns Two Victories, Topping Campbell and Anderson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Senior Trebor Clavette, junior Sam O'Hair and sophomore Ben Altman each won two matches in their respective weight classes as the Davidson wrestling team posted a pair of wins in Belk Arena Saturday night. The Wildcats defeated Campbell 26-19 and topped Anderson 26-15.
Against the fighting Camels, Altman started the meet with a 16-0 technical fall win at 2:35 to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead. After Alex Radsky suffered a tough 8-6 loss in overtime at 133, Campbell had to forfeit the next two weight classes, making the score 17-3.
The Fighting Camels posted victories at 157 and 165 to trim the lead to 17-10, but Clavette answered with a technical fall (17-2) at 174 to make the margin 22-10. O'Hair followed with a major decision (16-4) at 184 and it was all the points the 'Cats would need. Davidson (3-11 on the season) forfeited at 197, and Charlie Wolff fell 3-2 in overtime at 285.
In the nightcap against Anderson, Altman got another technical fall (15-0) at 125, and Alex Radsky followed with a 5-2 decision at 133. Twin brother Vitaly Radsky posted a 7-5 decision at 141 to give the Wildcats an 11-0 early lead.
Anderson won decisions in the next three weight classes to trim the advantage to 11-9. Clavette posted a 10-0 major decision at 174, and O'Hair followed with a technical fall victory at 184 to make the score 20-9. The teams traded forfeits at 197 and 285 for the final 26-15 margin.
