
'Cats Head to UNCG for First Meeting with Spartans of 2007-08 SoCon Slate

WILDCAT UPDATE
- With just five SoCon affairs left in the 20-game slate, Davidson will meet UNC Greensboro for the first of two meetings in six days beginning with a 7 p.m. televised tip in Greensboro Wednesday evening. The Wildcats enter 17-6 overall and 15-0 in league play following an 81-56 victory over Charleston Saturday. Along with it being the 13th straight win, it was the 'Cats 25th consecutive regular season conference triumph.
- Davidson's streak is the third longest in the nation behind Memphis (23) and Drake (21).
- Stephen Curry leads the SoCon in scoring and ranks fifth nationally with an average of 25.0 per outing. The reigning league Player of the Week (three-time) and Month also ranks among national leaders in free-throw percentage (14th/88.9), three-pointers made (5th/96) and three-pointers per game (3rd/4.2).
- Along with Curry ranking among national leaders in scoring, his backcourt mate Jason Richards is also averaging double digits (12.8 ppg.) and still leads the country in assists at 8.1 per contest, while ranking 25th in assist/turnover ratio (2.49).
- During Coach Bob McKillop's 16 years coaching amongst SoCon competition, he has guided the 'Cats to at least 10 wins in conference play 14 times. Davidson's start to the 2007-08 conference slate marks the second time the Wildcats have started 15-0 under McKillop. The other time Davidson began the season 15-0 in league play it posted a perfect SoCon mark (2004-05).
- Davidson is 27-3 in February since the 2003-04 season, all three losses came during the 2005-06 slate.

UNC Greensboro Mike Dement is 95-97 in two tenures on the Spartans' bench. He is 301-285 as a collegiate head coach.
