
After 2-0 Weekend, Wildcats Return to the Water to Host Emory Sat. at Noon

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off wins over the College of Charleston and N.C. A&T last weekend, the Davidson Wildcat swimming and diving team will return to action Saturday at noon, hosting the Emory Eagles at Cannon Natatorium.
Three Wildcats Receive CCSA Weekly Honors
Davidson's impressive weekend garnered the team three CCSA weekly honors, with junior Nate Ladner, sophomore Anna Stringfield and senior Stephannie McKinney honored by the conference office for their contributions to the team's wins.
Ladner was named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the week after winning four events to help the Wildcats to a 164-123 victory over the defending-champion Cougars Saturday at Cannon Natatorium. Ladner won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events and also swam critical legs on two relays, including the winning 400 freestyle relay.
Stringfield and McKinney helped the defending CCSA champion Wildcats go 2-0 in league competition with wins over North Carolina A&T, 86-58, and the College of Charleston, 184-111. Stringfield swam on the winning 400 medley relay Friday night against N.C. A&T and returned Saturday to win the 200 and 500 freestyles. McKinney won the 3-meter diving event against Saturday with a score of 222.45, the second best score in the conference this season.
Scouting the Eagles
The Emory University Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams will take part in their first road meets of the 2008-09 season, as the Eagles will travel to Davidson for a dual meet, and part of the Emory Women's squad will participate in the Agnes Scott College Spook Splash Invitational.
The Eagles are coming off a pair of losses to the University of North Carolina – Wilmington, as the men fell 153-144, and the women lost 152-148. Emory's Keith Diggs, Harrison Brown, Ruth Westby, Tess Pasternak, Liz Horvat, and Marie Kim each recorded provisional qualifying times during the meet.
The Matchup
Last season, the Emory men came away with a 124-92 victory over Davidson, bringing the team's record to 8-4 all time against the Wildcats. The women won last season's matchup as well, picking up a 127-116 win, giving Emory eight-consecutive dual meet victories over Davidson. The Eagles will also send part of their women's squad to Agnes College Spook Splash Invitational, which is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start on Saturday.

The Wildcats will return to action next weekend, traveling to William & Mary for a 1 p.m. meet on Sat. Nov. 8.
