
Brendan Winters concluded his Wildcat career ranked fourth all-time in scoring with 1,892 points.
Winters Scheduled to Workout for Charlotte Bobcats Sunday, June 18

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Brendan Winters, a four-year starting guard/forward for the Davidson College men's basketball team will workout for the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association Sunday, June 18. The session for Winters will be his second with an NBA club as he displayed his skills for the Indiana Pacers earlier this week.
Winters, a 6-5, 205-pound wing player from Denver, Colo., capped his career by leading the Wildcats to a Southern Conference Tournament title and berth in the NCAA Tournament. He was the SoCon Tourney MVP on the strength of his career-high 33 points in the championship game. For his career, Winters scored 1,892 points, fourth all-time at Davidson and set a school record with 268 three-pointers. In addition, the 2005 SoCon Player of the Year and earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press as a junior.
This past season, Winters was named to the NABC All-District 5 second team, one of just two players to make the squads outside of the ACC. He also was selected to the All-Southern Conference first team for the third consecutive year, becoming just the fifth Wildcat to earn the honor three times. In addition, Winters was one of five finalists for the Chip Hilton Award, given annually to a graduating senior who demonstrates personal character on and off the court similar to that modeled by Coach Clair Bee's fictional hero, Chip Hilton. Gerry McNamara of Syracuse was the recipient of the award.
Winters is also scheduled to workout for the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, June 20. The 2006 NBA Draft will be held on Wednesday, June 28 in New York, N.Y., and televised on ESPN at 7 p.m.
