DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Saturday's 7 p.m. tip-off at Cameron Indoor Stadium marks the 102nd meeting between the Davidson Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils.
The Wildcats enter the contest fresh off a 99-69 victory over Colby College on Tuesday to improve to 4-2 overall. In their game against the Mules, Davidson tied or broke four three-point school records.
Reigning SoCon Player of the Week, Stephen Curry, was among those establishing new Wildcat marks nailing 9 of his 20 attempts from deep to finish with a game-high 29 points.
Though he didn't find his way into the record books, junior tri-captain Jason Richards set new career highs with 20 points and 16 assists, which was just one off the school mark.
Curry continues to lead the way offensively for the 'Cats with an average of 22.5 points per outing, which ranks second among SoCon leaders.
Like Davidson, the Blue Devils were last in action Tuesday evening, but had a different result as they fell to No. 13 Marquette 73-62 in the finals of the CBE Classic. The loss was Duke's first of the season dropping the nationally-ranked Blue Devils to 4-1 on the campaign.
Duke has won 19 straight against the Wildcats and leads the all-time series 84-17. Davidson's last win over the Blue Devils was a 75-73 victory in the Iron Duke Classic on Dec. 29, 1981.
Davidson's game at Duke will be broadcast by WEGO 1410 AM and WFNZ 610 AM with John Kilgo providing all the action over the airwaves. Coverage will begin 30 minutes before the opening tip at 7 p.m. For fans outside the radio signal, they can listen to the game via TEAMLINE on the internet (www.teamline.cc) or the phone (800-847-4600, team code 1143).
The game will be televised on FSNS at 7 p.m., with Ron Thulin and Dan Bonner broadcasting the contest.
