    Murphy enters her second year with Davidson after a nice four-year playing career at Campbell University. Murphy handles film exchange and breakdown, as well as working with the post.

    Murphy’s senior year at Campbell saw her lead the team in scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.8 rpg). A second-team All-Atlantic Sun pick this past season, Murphy led the conference in rebounding and ranked 19th nationally with her 9.8 average. She finished her career ranked ninth overall in school history with an average of 8.1.
    “Marlena brings a recent player’s perspective to our staff and she will be working with our post players,” said Watts.

     A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Murphy was named to the All-Atlantic Sun First Team and was the team MVP as a junior when she averaged 12.1 points per game and finished second in the conference with a 9.4 rebounding average. She was twice named to the all-state team for North Carolina during her four-year career and garnered MVP honors this past year at the Elon Tournament.

    Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Campbell in 2008.
