HENRICO, Va. – Charlise Dunn scored a game-high 16 points and Davidson forced 29 turnovers as the 'Cats cruised past Dayton, 56-36, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament Friday evening inside the Henrico Sports and Events Center.
Advancing to the semifinals for the first time since joining the league in 2014-15, the Wildcats will take on second-seeded George Mason Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The two teams split the season series with each team winning on their home floor.
Winners of nine of its last 10, Davidson improves to 19-12 overall, while the Flyers conclude the season 18-14.
Named second-team all-conference earlier this week, Dunn also pulled down a team-best eight rebounds. She was joined in double figures by senior and third-team selection Issy Morgan, who had 13 points.
Despite a sluggish start offensively, the Wildcats grabbed control late in the opening quarter closing with 11 unanswered to lead 16-2 after one.
In addition to forcing 20 first-half turnovers, Davidson held the Flyers to just 11 points in the half, the lowest total by an opponent since holding George Mason to 12 on Feb. 20, 2021.
The Wildcats, who led 27-11 at the break, pushed the margin to as many as 24 early in the fourth quarter.
Davidson scored 22 points off Flyer miscues and finished with 38 points in the paint.
Arianna Smith was the lone bright spot for Dayton recording 13 points and 13 rebounds.
