‘Cats Fall at JMU in Opening Round of WBIT

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Kseniia Kozlova led James Madison with 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Dukes defeated Davidson, 77-50, in the opening round of the WBIT Thursday evening inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
With the setback, the Wildcats conclude the 2024-25 season 19-14 overall. Top-seeded JMU (29-5) will host Marquette in the second round Sunday.
In addition to their first-ever WBIT appearance, Davidson's campaign was highlighted by a school-record 250 3-pointers made and program-best third-place finish in Atlantic 10 play.
The Dukes used a 13-0 run midway through the second quarter to erase a four-point deficit and go in front for good.
After Issy Morgan opened the third quarter with a trey to get the 'Cats within two, 32-30, JMU responded with another run (10-2) and would eventually put the game out of reach with three straight triples.
Morgan led the way for Davidson with 11 points, while Candice Lienafa added 10.
James Madison, which shot 66.7 percent in the final quarter, also got double figures from Roshala Scott (16), Peyton McDaniel (14) and Bree Robinson (12).
