Prep Years: Played for coach Bobby Lindquest at Concordia Lutheran High School • Three-year starter at tight end for his perennial TAAPS Playoff team • Totaled 23 catches for 565 yards and 10 touchdowns for 24.6 yards per catch and was elected team captain his senior season • His performance on the field garnered him Honorable Mention All-District honors his junior year and First Team All-District and First Team All-State recognition his senior campaign • A four-sport letterman in football, basketball, tennis and track and field, Mitchell was honored with the Male Christian Athlete of the Year award as a senior • Two-time Class President • Four-year All-Academic • Member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars • Served as a mentor to children of Nepal through a summer bible school program in Houston, Texas.

Personal: Born on August 3, 1996 in Sugar Land, Texas • Son of Mike and Linda McCormick and Jimmy and Jennifer Howard • Has five siblings: Camille, Scott, Jared, Madison and Nicole • Father, Jimmy Howard, was a two-time Olympian in track and field at the high jump in 1980 and 1988 and holds American records as well as being elected to the Aggie Hall of Fame at Texas A&M in 1988 • A Bonner Scholar at Davidson and will participate in the engineering dual degree program.
