Seventh Season
Jimmy Means returns to the Davidson coaching staff for his seventh season and will coach the outside linebackers.
Under his guidance, Patrick Moynahan earned All-Pioneer Football League Honorable Mention and ranked 12th in the PFL in tackles per game at 6.5 per game in 2011.
His expertise helped Niel Andrews and Bud Crawford emerge as defensive forces in the Pioneer Football League in 2006 and 2007. Andrews was named first-team All-PFL in 2006, while Crawford earned second-team all-conference accolades in 2007. John Behm was named second-team all-conference a season ago.
The Wildcats ranked fourth in the Pioneer Football League in tackles for loss in 2008.
Means has a wealth of experience coaching at the high school level. He has served as an assistant coach at North Mecklenburg since 2000, most recently as the defensive coordinator.
The 1991 graduate of Union College also spent two years as an assistant at Mooresville High School (1999-2000). From 1996-98, Means was the head coach at Trimble County High School in Bedford, Ky.
Means lives in Charlotte with his wife Diane, daughter, Makayla (13), and son Holden (5).
