Prep Years: Played football for coach Kevin Motsinger at New Hanover High School • Two-time all-conference pick • Named second-team all-area • Holds school career and single-season passing yards and touchdown records • Also holds single-game passing yards record • Received school’s Trey Barrett Award (leadership) and David Hewlett Award (senior MVP) • Team advanced to second round of state playoffs • Four-year letterwinner in baseball, earning first team all-conference and second team all-area accolades • Member of National Honor Society and Beta Club • Carolina Panthers Community Captain Award Winner (Fall 2011) • NHHS Nancy Stovall Horton Academic Achievement Scholar • U.S. Army Reserves National Scholar Athlete Award • Coach Jap Davis Achievement Award.
 
Personal: Born September 15, 1993 • Son of Walker and Amy Taylor • Mother, the former Amy Crittenberger, played on Davidson’s field hockey and basketball teams and was the 1983 Rebecca Stimson Award Winner • Father, Walker Taylor IV, played golf for Clemson and qualified to play in a PGA Tour event • Has two siblings – Jackson (23) and Juliet (16) • Brother, Jackson, graduated from Davidson in 2012 and was a four-year starter on the golf team • Grandfather, Walker Taylor III, was a 1948 graduate of Davidson • Cousin, Victor Taylor, Jr. ‘83, and aunt, Katherine Taylor Cammack ‘82,  played men’s and women’s tennis, respectively, at Davidson • Cousin, Jennifer Crittenberger, plays soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University • Four other aunts and uncles played NCAA Division I sports • Cousin, Lee Crittenberger ‘14, currently attends Davidson • Cousin, Frances Morton ’93, and great uncle, Victor Taylor ’52, also attended Davidson.
