HOPEWELL, N.J. — Davidson women's basketball coach Gayle Fulks has been named to the 10-person midseason watch list for the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award, Her Hoop Stats announced Wednesday.
The award, now in its third year, is named after the former Harvard coach, who led her Crimson teams to 630 wins and six NCAA Tournament bids in a 40-year career.
Fulks is in her ninth year leading the Wildcats, who enter Wednesday night's home game against George Mason 15-7 overall and 7-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Fulks has compiled a record of 138-122 at Davidson.
To be eligible for the award, coaches must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be mid-major, excluding coaches from the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Ben Ten and SEC.
Five award finalists will be announced in March, with the winner presented during the Final Four. Coaches will be assessed throughout the regular season and the postseason.
