WASHINGTON — Davidson's Sib Naaktgeboren has been named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

The senior from Zwijndrecht, Netherlands, is the first Wildcat to earn the offensive honor since Anne Federico and Emily Leytham in 2015.

In a 2-0 weekend, Naaktgeboren scored four goals and assisted on another, taking her season total to a career-best eight goals (tied-5th nationally) and two assists.

"Sib has been playing so well," said Davidson coach Zoe Almquist. "She's really getting confident about playing the ball into good places from which to score. I'm so proud of the leadership she's displaying and the work she's put in. I'm also super-pumped that we've built a team of selfless teammates around Sib — everyone is supporting each other and doing what we need so that Team 50 can succeed. We're excited to begin A-10 play this weekend."

Naaktgeboren scored both goals in last Friday's 2-0 home win over Longwood, striking in the fifth minute and sealing the win with 52 seconds left.

In Sunday's road win over Bellarmine, Naaktgeboren assisted on the Wildcats' first goal, then scored two in a span of less than two minutes in the third quarter as Davidson extended its lead in the 5-1 win.

Naaktgeboren and the Wildcats will open A-10 play Friday, Sept. 19 at home against La Salle.
