DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson women's tennis team ended the regular season in the win column with a sweep of non-conference opponent Lees-McRae on Senior Day Saturday.
The victory closes out the Spring season for the Wildcats at 12-7 overall and 1-5 in the Atlantic 10 conference.
"We had a terrific day on the courts today," said head coach Susanne Depka. "We had some challenges and adversity that we overcame and had great grit and determination. Kavya and Dani had tough matches and pulled them out, which was great for them on Senior Day. This was a fantastic end to our regular season. I look forward to next week at conference and believe our team can achieve great things and take conference."
The 'Cats kicked off doubles play with a pair of quick wins on courts one and three courtesy of senior pair Kavya Patel and Dani Porges (6-2) as well as Charlotte Calderwood and Ellie Hammond (6-0).
The successes continued through singles play as Ines Roti took the first solo win in an impressive 6-0, 6-0 triumph on court six before Bryson Langford and Olivia Hooper both took 6-2, 6-2 wins on courts five and three respectively.
