'Cats Climb Past Dukes in Saturday Meeting

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Despite scoring just two second-half goals, the Davidson lacrosse team powered past Duquesne University 10-7 in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.
The win improves the Wildcats' overall record to 8-3, as Davidson also moves to 4-1 in league play. The Dukes dropped to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the A-10.
Kayla Joyce, who ended the day with eight saves, made two stops in the third quarter to hold the Dukes scoreless as Davidson commanded its 9-3 lead going into the fourth and final frame.
In the fourth, the Dukes went on a 4-1 run to threaten Davidson's lead, but the 'Cats ultimately pulled out the 10-7 victory.
Skibbe led the way with three goals, while Brodman, Cochrane, Allie Hartnett and Devyn Martinez each ended the day with two points.
Davidson and Duquesne combined for 42 turnovers, while the 'Cats caused 12.

The 'Cats will hit the road for a two-game stint, beginning with a trip to St. Bonaventure next Sunday, April 6 at 12 p.m.
