DAVIDSON - Senior Nico Pinzon won a comeback three-set battle in singles against Bucknell Friday to help lift the Davidson men's tennis team to a 4-3 victory.

The win puts the Wildcats' overall record at 7-6 entering the back half of the regular season.

"We fought back in doubles to win the team point to start the day." said head coach Drew Barrett. "The bottom of the lineup carried the day today. It was a great win. Bucknell are a very good and well coached team."

The Bison stuck first in doubles action taking a 6-3 win on court one before veterans Juan Camilo Perez Gongora and Uddayvir Singh claimed a 6-4 match on court two.

Nikhil Mukherjee and Davide Procacci were able to clinch the point for the 'Cats, winning 6-4 in the No. 3 spot.

Bucknell quickly went ahead of Davidson 2-1 in team score with back-to-back triumphs on courts three and one respectively.

Procacci was able to remain undefeated on the day as well as even the team score with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court five before fellow freshman Gregorio Hidalgo lifted the Wildcats back ahead courtesy of a 6-4, 7-5 win of his own.

With court two and six both entering their third sets and the Bison leading at the No. 2 position, Pinzon slammed the door on any hope of a Bucknell win, storming back 7-5 in the second set after falling 6-3 in the first and ultimately running away with the third in 6-0 fashion to clinch the match point.
