
'Cats Finish Spring Break in 4-1 Win Over Longwood

DAVIDSON - The Davidson men's tennis team rounded out its three-game Spring Break week with a 4-1 victory over Longwood Sunday morning.Â
The win lifts the 'Cats overall record to 8-6 on the season.Â
Nico Pinzon and Gregorio Hidalgo ignited the day cruising to a 6-1 win on court one before Juan Camilo Perez Gongora and Uddayvir Singh sealed the doubles point for the Wildcats in a 6-4 court two triumph.Â
The Lancers struck first in singles play picking up a 6-1, 6-1 win on court four before Davidson rattled off three straight victories to put the match out of reach for Longwood.Â
Perez Gongora earned a tidy 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position while Hidalgo took care of his opponent in 6-4, 6-3 fashion on court three.Â
Senior Singh put the finishing touches on the match for the 'Cats narrowly taking his opening set 7-5 before winning the second bout 6-4 and clinching the match.Â
