Zeballos’ Goal Lifts ‘Cats Over La Salle

10/8/2025 5:54:00 PM | Men's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Davidson men's soccer team notched their second straight win with a 1-0 road victory over La Salle Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-5-2 on the season and 2-1-2 in Atlantic 10 action. The Explorers fell to 1-4-6 and 0-2-2 on their 2025 campaign.

The 'Cats win was highlighted by a consistent offensive pressure on the La Salle back line. As a team, they recorded a season-high 22 shots and nine corner kicks, while matching a season-high with seven shots on target.

Freshman Nicholas Alvaro Zeballos opened the scoring in the 30th minute, collecting a failed clear attempt by a La Salle defender and burying his shot in the low right corner. The score marked Zaballos' first career goal and gives him three points on the season.

Zeballos and Myles Culley led the team with four shots apiece while Nico Quanbeck tallied three shots, and Brady McGlone and Partick Ward made two shots each.

This was all the distance that Davidson needed as the defense collected their second straight clean sheet win. Ward, Quanbeck, McGlone and Jack Brown played the full 90 minutes of action and Lucas Beltran made four saves between the pipes for the Wildcats.
