Wildcats Earn Four Medals; Finish Fourth at A-10 Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Davidson men's track and field team took home four more medals and finished fourth to conclude the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday. Junior Jayden Smith won his third consecutive gold in the 110-meter hurdles and Jack Stajos won silver in both the discus and shot put to lead the 'Cats on the final day.
In his third season, Jayden Smith captured his third consecutive conference title in the 110-meter hurdles. The Richmond, Va. native ran a 13.77 in Sunday's final to earn ten points for the Wildcats while Isaac Bynum took eighth to secure another point for the team.
Smith wasn't done as he earned three more team points with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter final after running a 10.71. Senior Chinedu Okeke took seventh with a 10.73.
Charlotte native Jack Stajos put 16 points on the board for Davidson in the discus and shot put. Stajos earned his first-career medal in the discus after his second throw went 49.72 meters which earned him a silver medal. A few hours later, the veteran thrower returned for the shot put final and sent his third throw 16.76 meters. It was the best on the season for Stajos and the second-furthest in program history.
Earning the final medal for the Wildcats was the 4x800 relay team which consisted of Ryan Harris, Grahm Breiter, Henry Griffith, and Jack Muldoon. The group took bronze with a mark of 7:33.74.
