'Cats Begin Three-Game Homestand Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson lacrosse team will play three of its final four regular season games at home, beginning with a 12 p.m. match up against George Mason on Saturday, April 6.
The 'Cats and Patriots will square off on Field 76, with coverage available on ESPN+.
LIFE LATELY… Davidson is coming off a 13-11 loss to UMass last week, where the Wildcats outscored the Minutewomen 8-6 in the second half, but could not complete the late comeback. Jenna Skibbe recorded a hat trick in the fourth quarter alone, while fellow freshman Brooke Ross also scored three goals. Overall, Josie Lambert leads the 'Cats with 34 goals this season, while Riley Cochrane and Allie Hartnett hold team-best 16 and 15 assists, respectively.
AROUND THE LEAGUE… Entering the final month of the regular season, Richmond and UMass stand at the top of the conference standings with 5-0 records in league play. In addition to Davidson's 3-2 conference ledger, Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure and VCU all share the same league record.
ABOUT THE PATRIOTS… George Mason enters this weekend's contest at 8-5 overall and 2-3 in A-10 play. The Patriots have picked up two-straight league victories over Duquesne (16-9) and George Washington (13-8) heading into Saturday's meeting. Led by graduate student Shannon Tuozzo's 43 goals this season, Mason averages 28.3 shots per game and converts 13.5 goals per game.
THE LAST TIME… A season ago, the Wildcats captured their 10th victory of the season at George Mason, defeating the Patriots 17-9 after a shut-out third period and 10-3 scoring run over the second half. Riley Cochrane recorded a hat trick for the 'Cats, while Allie Hartnett added a pair of scores and Julianne Carey dished a game-high five assists.
COMING UP… After this weekend's contest, the 'Cats will host Saint Joseph's on Saturday, April 13 and St. Bonaventure Saturday, April 20. Against the Bonnies, the Davidson Athletics Department will formally dedicate the opening of its brand new Davidson College Stadium. The Wildcats will then conclude the regular season at Duquesne on April 27 before beginning the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship in Pittsburgh on May 2.
