DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson men's tennis team has been selected as the No. 6 seed in the Atlantic 10's 2024 Championship bracket the league office announced Monday.

The sixth-seeded Wildcats have earned a first-round bye and will set their sites on No. 3 Dayton in the quarterfinals Friday, April 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Davidson's match up with the Flyers will be the second of the 2024 spring season, in which the 'Cats will look to avenge a 4-0 loss to Dayton that they suffered March 9 on a neutral site in O'Fallon, Ill.

Dayton leads the all-time series over Davidson 5-2 with the Wildcats' most recent win over the Flyers having been a 4-1 triumph April 15 2023 in Richmond, Va.

This season, junior Juan Camilo Perez Gongora has paced the 'Cats in singles action with an 11-7 overall record including a 10-3 mark on court two. In doubles, Perez Gongora is 9-9 overall having played a majority of the season on the top court. When pairing up with fellow junior Nico Pinzon, the duo are 4-2 on court two in doubles.

The Wildcats' top man Udday Singh arrives into the championships with an 8-8 singles record overall with four wins on both court one and two and 8-5 mark in doubles play.

Pinzon and Sebastian Carpio Moran each hold seven singles victories in addition to Pinzon leading the team in doubles wins with 10 all coming from the No. 2 doubles spot with partners Perez Gongora and Singh.

The Flyers (17-8, 4-1 A-10) are led by fifth-year Connor Bruce who has a 27-7 overall record with a 16-5 mark in dual play in the spring all at the No. 1 positioning. Joining Bruce at the top of the lineup is rookie Kyle McNally who has compiled a 16-3 spring record.

All rounds of the Atlantic 10 Tournament will be streamed through the USTA website's Playsight system, which allows viewers to select the court they wish to watch. Admission will be free for the A-10 Championships.
