DURHAM, N.C. - The Davidson men's tennis team took the doubles point while rookie Nikhil Mukherjee clinched the match point on the way to a 4-2 victory at North Carolina Central University Saturday.Â
The win, which is the second of the weekend for the Wildcats, improves Davidson's record to 7-9 overall while NCCU becomes 6-11.Â
The Eagles took the first doubles match of the day via 6-2 win in the No. 1 spot. Sebastian Carpio Moran extended the 'Cats' lead with a 6-4, 6-0 win on court three before the Eagles earned their first team point with two-set triumph on court one.Â
The 'Cats and Eagles traded the next two points as Udday Singh won 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot before NCCU taking a victory on court four.Â
In his singles debut, Nikhil Mukherjee on court six surged to a pivital 6-0, 6-1 win to clinch the match for the Wildcats.Â
