Perez Gongora Clinches 4-3 Win at UNC Greensboro

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Juan Camilo Perez Gongora won a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-4 singles match against UNC Greensboro Friday afternoon to lift the 'Cats past the Spartans 4-3, snapping a four-match losing streak.

The 'Cats dropped the doubles point, despite a 6-3 win on court three from Jerry Wang and Luca Lovrich, but rallied back with four wins on the singles courts to take the match.

Udday Singh began the comeback campaign, with Davidson down 2-0 following a Spartans singles win on court three, earning a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 2 while Pinzon won a two-bout battle 6-3, 6-2 on court five. In addition to Perez Gongora's clinching victory, senior Jerry Wang won a two-set fight, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 6 that helped the 'Cats come out on top.

Davidson will continue its road trip when it travels to North Carolina Central University for a 1:30 p.m. match Saturday.
