'Cats Back On the Road in Rhode Island

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson women's basketball team will get back on the road along with a four-game winning streak as they travel for a test at Rhode Island 1 p.m. Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY...
The Wildcats enter the weekend looking to tie the all-time series as the Rams currently claim a slight 7-6 lead. The 'Cats will also look to snap a three-game losing streak against Rhode Island. Most recently Davidson was defeated by narrow 67-60 margin by Rhody Feb. 4, 2023 inside John M. Belk Arena.
Elle Sutphin scored a team-high 19 points to go along with eight rebounds while Suzi-Rose Deegan chipped in 11 points and seven rebound while Tomisin Adenupe joined in double figures with 10 points of her own.

LAST TIME OUT...
Sutphin's season-high 24 points coupled with an efficient .560 day of shooting from the floor for the 'Cats earned them a compelling 75-67 win over George Mason who earlier in the season defeated Davidosn by 38 points.
Mallorie Haines went off for 15 points while Issy Morgan and Millie Prior each tallied eight of their own.
WHEN THE SHOTS FALL...
The Wildcats notched their second-highest single-game shooting percentage of the season hitting 28-of-50 from the floor against the Patriots.
Davidson found great success from beyond the arc as well, earning their highest single-game three point percentage of the year at .625 after connecting on 10-of-16. The Wildcats have now drained at least 10 form distance in six contests.
Much of the success from long range was due in part by a 4-of-6 showing from Haines from three. The Junior guard from Sherrills Ford, N.C. had drained 42 triples this year and has seven games this year having hit at least three.
TOUGH ON THE ROAD...
As a team, the Wildcats are playing solid on the road this season. With a 7-3 record in away games, Davidson has averaged 61.5 ppg while holding its competition to just 58.7. Additionally the 'Cats have shot .420 from the floor on the road and held their opponents to only a .399 shooting percentage.
Individually in road games, Sutphin leads the way offensively with 11.7 points per game and 4.0 rebounds while shooting .463 from the floor, .529 from beyond the arc and .846 from the foul line. Following is Prior with 9.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg as well as 16 blocks and a .561 shooting percentage from the floor.
CONFERENCE 'CATS...
As a team, the Wildcats are performing well in A-10 action. Currently in league games the Wildcats average 61.0 ppg and 31.7 rpg while shooting 43.2 from the floor and 73.4 from the foul line. Davidson continues to have strong starts to each half of play as they outscore their opponents by a +30 margin in the first quarter and +18 margin in the third quarter.
Pacing the 'Cats in conference play is Dunn with 13.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 16 blocks, 18 steals and 18 assists. Dunn has shot .430 from the floor and a team-high .882 from the charity stripe having missed only four free throws in A-10 action.
Prior leads on defense for Davidson with 7.4 rebounds per game, 24 blocks and 12 steals to go along with 8.5 points per game. Prior has knocked down a team-high .523 percent of her shots in A-10 games.

The Rams enter the weekend averaging 64.3 points and 38.4 rebounds per game while shooting .407 from the floor, .300 from beyond the arc and .654 from the foul line.
Four Rhode Island players have averaged double-digit points in Maye Toure (13.4), Sophie Phillips (11.6), Teisha Hyman (11.6) and Dee Dee Davis (10.1). Toure also leads the team on the defensive end of the floor with 7.7 rebounds.
