'Cats Bring Three Game Win Streak Back Home Wednesday

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Winners of three consecutive games, the Davidson women's basketball team will look to continue the streak in its second meeting with George Mason of the season 7 p.m. Wednesday inside John M. Belk Arena.

The Wildcats and Patriots split the all-time series 6-6 following Davidson's most recent 79-41 loss on the road to George Mason Jan. 10 inside EagleBank Arena.
Millie Prior and Charlise Dunn ended the game in double figures having scored 12 and 11 points respectfully.

Davidson earned a gutsy 48-45 win on the road at Loyola Chicago Sunday after playing under the guidance of Associate Head Coach James Janssen.
Elle Sutphin nailed a jumper with 35 seconds remaining before Prior made a clutch block and Issy Morgan took one final charge to lift the Davidson women's basketball team past Loyola Chicago in a game that saw eight lead changes and three ties.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME...
Davidson is an impressive 10-3 on its home court this season. The Wildcats have secured their sixth consecutive winning season at home from the 2018-19 campaign to the current 2023-14 season. With three home contests remaining in the regular season including Wednesday, the 'Cats are on track to record a new program-high of single-season home wins with the current lead being 12 from the 2011-12 season.
All told, the Wildcats perform well in the confines of their home court. The 'Cats average 70.0 ppg inside Belk Arena while shooting .455 from the floor and .713 from the foul line. More specifically, Sutphin (12.7), Dunn (12.5) and Prior (10.8) average double figures when playing on the home court. Prior also leads the way with an efficient .584 shooting percentage at home.
CATS IN THE CONFERENCE...
As a team, the Wildcats are performing well in A-10 action. Currently in league games the Wildcats average 59.8 ppg and 31.9 rpg while shooting 42.1 from the floor and 74.1 from the foul line. Davidson continues to have strong starts to each half of play as they outscore their opponents by a +39 margin in the first quarter and +14 margin in the third quarter.
Pacing the 'Cats in conference play is Dunn with 13.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 16 blocks, 18 steals and 18 assists. Dunn has shot .430 from the floor and a team-high .882 from the charity stripe having missed only four free throws in A-10 action.
Prior leads on defense for Davidson with 7.6 rebounds per game, 24 blocks and 11 steals to go along with 8.6 points per game. Prior has knocked down a team-high .512 percent of her shots in A-10 games.

Donovan in her rookie year has shot efficiently from the floor at .400 from the floor and .846 from the charity stripe. Haines continues to be a threat from long range as she averages .447 from beyond the arc with 38 made 3's. Plank has been hot as of late, having tallied double figures in three of the last five contests including an efficient 5-of-7 effort in Sunday's win against the Ramblers.

George Mason features the second-best scoring offense in the league with an average of 72.3 points per game as well as the best scoring margin in the A-10 at +15.8. Additionally, the Patriots have shot .402 from the floor and bring in a conference-high 41.4 rebounds per contest.
Sonia Smith leads the charge with per game averages of 14.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals while Zahirah Walton joins Smith in double figure scoring with 11.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.4 spg.
