CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Davidson wrestling team fell to The Citadel Bulldogs 36-7 in Southern Conference dual action on Sunday. Tanner Peake and Wyatt Ferguson picked up wins for the Wildcats.
Peake, a sophomore from Flemington, N.J., continued his impressive streak as he collected a 9-4 decision over Hayden Watson at 157 pounds. Since January 21, Peake is now 8-1, a perfect 4-0 in SoCon duals and 13-14 on the year.
Freshman Wyatt Ferguson bounced back from a loss on Friday night by picking up a major decision win over Adam Ortega. Ortega came into the match having won six of his last seven matches, but the first-year man dominated from start to finish. With his win, Ferguson moved to 4-1 in conference action and bumped his record to 11-13 on the season.
