Men's Track & Field Opens 2024 at Carolina Challenge

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Two months after their first action of the season, the Davidson men's indoor track & field team will compete at the Carolina Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina this weekend.
The two-day event will get underway Friday at 10 a.m. Live results will be available each day at AdkinsTrack.com.
Other teams set to attend the event are the host Gamecocks, Belmont Abbey, Benedict, Charlotte, The Citadel, Claflin, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Columbia International, Converse, Coppin State, Florida A&M, Furman, Georgia State, Lander, Limestone, North Greenville, SCAD Savannah, South Carolina, UNC Asheville, UNC Pembroke, Wingate and Winthrop. This weekend's meet will be held inside the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Davidson, which opened its 2023-24 indoor campaign back on December 2, will compete over the next four weekends in preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships on February 23-24 in Virginia Beach, Va.
The last time out, junior Jayden Smith broke the meet record and won the 60-meter hurdles at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off with a time of 7.83 seconds. It was the sixth-fastest time in program history. Chinedu Okeke ran a 6.97 in the 60-meter dash which was the third-fastest time by a Wildcat, and Jack Stajos recorded a throw of 14.78 meters in the shot-put which was also a top-ten mark in the indoor record book.
