Wildcats Dominate UNC Greensboro on Senior Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson men's tennis team bounced back in a big way on Saturday, picking up its first win since March 7, with a 6-1 victory over UNC Greensboro.
Saturday's match also served as senior day, where the program celebrated William Clark for his four-year contributions to the team.
The 'Cats got off to a hot start from inside the Knobloch Tennis Center, earning the doubles point with a 6-2 victory on court one from Juan Camilo Perez Gongora and Maxwell Kachkarov and a thrilling 7-6 (7-5) win for Jerry Wang and Luca Lovrich to clinch the point at No. 3.
Davidson continued its solid play onto the singles courts, as Perez Gongora swiftly won a 6-1, 6-0 match on court four to put the 'Cats ahead 2-0 early. From there, Clark (6-3, 6-0), Kachkarov (6-3, 4-6, 6-2) and Alejandro Solares (6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5)) retired the side from No. 2, No. 3 and No. 1, respectively to secure the match victory.
Wang earned his second victory celebration of the day by closing out the Wildcats' scoring brigade with a 6-2, 6-1 sweep at court six.
