Wildcats Add Wins on Final Day at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Three more event wins Sunday helped the Davidson men climb from fifth into a second-place finish at the three-day Bucknell Invitational, while the Wildcat women turned in solid performances as well en route to a fourth-place finish.
Swimmer Dylan Felt and diver Ben Cutforth won their second individual events of the weekend, while swimmer Jeremy Kemp broke through in the 200 back, helping push the team's event win total to six.
Felt, who won the 200 free on Saturday, touched first in the 1,650 free Sunday in 15:20.08. Cutforth completed his sweep of the diving events by winning the three-meter competition with 330.55 points. Kemp, who joined Felt on the winning 800 free relay Saturday, swam out front in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.13.
The 200 back was one of two events in which the Wildcats had 1-2 finishes Sunday, as Liam McDonough touched after Kemp in 1:49.07. And James Gourlay took second in diving (309.90), teaming with Cutforth.
Kemp and Felt joined Ben McClain and Zain Butt on the 400 free relay team that placed third (3:00.20). McClain and Felt went 7-8 in the 100 free in 45.44 and 45.71, respectively, and McClain took seventh in the 200 fly (1:51.70).
Fletcher Smith placed fourth in the 200 fly (1:48.70), and Andrew Schou was eighth in the 200 breast (2:03.10).
Henry Logan was seventh in the 200 back (1:55.32), helping Davidson total 83 points in the event, and also took seventh in the 1,650 free (16:07.44).
For the Davidson women, the 400 free relay team of Chale Jacks, Martha Tripsa, Leah Sandock and Addy Donaldson led the way with a second-place finish (3:25.04).
Sylvia Stewart-Bates placed third in the 1,650 free (16:59.87), and Donaldson tied for third in the 100 free (50.93). Anna Newman was fourth in the 200 breast (2:18.55), and Ann Thompson was fifth in the 200 back (2:01.14). Jacks added seventh-place points in the 200 fly (2:08.90).
