Prior’s Perfect Night Leads ‘Cats to Eighth Straight Win

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's Millie Prior scored 18 points on a perfect 9-for-9 performance from the floor as the Wildcats ran their winning streak to eight straight in a 75-56 victory over UNCW Monday night.
Continuing their best start in program history, the 'Cats improve to 10-1 overall, while the Seahawks fall to 2-7.
Mallorie Haines added a game-high 19 points for Davidson in addition to tallying four steals, while Charlise Dunn finished with 16 to go along with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and a block.
Davidson continued its trend of starting fast racing out to a 9-0 advantage before leading 24-12 at the end of the first quarter. Prior scored 14 of her 18 points in the opening 10 minutes of action.
Another small spurt to open the second all but put the game out of reach while a Haines' triple late in the frame pushed the margin to 21.
After UNCW used a lengthy run late in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 14, Davidson responded stretching its lead back to 20 before securing the double-digit victory.
The Wildcats capitalized off of interior play as they scored 46 of their points in the paint.
