‘Cats Drill 18 Treys in 98-63 Win over Lynchburg

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson drilled 18 3-pointers and shot 52.3 percent on its way to a 98-63 victory over University of Lynchburg Saturday afternoon inside Belk Arena.
Winners of five straight, the Wildcats improve to 8-3 overall.
Connor Kochera paced 14 different Davidson players in the scoring column with 17 points. Bobby Durkin and David Skogman also scored in double figures for the 'Cats with 11 each. Senior Grant Huffman was steady as usual with 9 points to go with 8 assists.
In addition to racing out to a 12-0 lead, Davidson made its first five attempts from long range and drilled 10 in the opening period en route to 47-25 advantage at the half.
The Wildcats, who finished with 25 assists on 34 made field goals, pushed the margin to as many as 43 in the closing minutes on a Michael Katsock triple.
Davidson's 18 threes marked the most in a single game since March 5, 2021, when the 'Cats drained 17 against George Mason.
Jonathan Foust scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting to lead the Hornets, who knocked down 12 triples of their own.
