LEWISBURG, Pa. — Diver Ben Cutforth's win in the one-meter competition highlighted Davidson's efforts Friday on the first day of the Bucknell Invitational.

The senior, who also had the top scores during afternoon prelims, emerged with 308.40 points and the 32 first-place points.

Through the meet's first 12 events, the Davidson women have totaled 345 points and rank third among seven teams, while the Wildcat men are fourth among six with 298 points.

While Cutforth was the only Wildcat event-winner Friday, Davidson had a host of top-eight performances, including four second-place finishes by the women.

That included Sylvia Stewart-Bates' swim in the 500 free (4:54.90) and Addy Donaldson's finish in the 50 free (23.29). Donaldson also swam on two second-place relays, joining Leah Sandock, Martha Tripsa and Chale Jacks in the 200 free relay (1:33.66) and teaming with Jacks, Ann Thompson and Anna Newman in the 400 medley (3:46.08).

Additionally, Newman took fifth in the 200 IM (2:04.39), Tripsa was eighth in the 50 free (23.89) and divers Elle Jacobsen (268.30) and Annica Valmassei (260.40) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the three-meter.

The Davidson men turned in two third-place finishes, including diver James Gourlay (275.95) in the one-meter and the 200 free relay team of Dylan Felt, Guil Ware, Ben McClain and Ian Brann (1:21.64).

Felt joined Jeremy Kemp, Andrew Schou and Miles Charles on the fourth-place 400 medley relay (3:18.59), and Henry Logan took fifth in the 500 free (4:33.90).
