Wildcats End Time at ITA Regionals

DURHAM, N.C. - The Davison College men's tennis team concluded its competition at the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships Sunday, competing against 23 schools in the Carolina Region at Duke University.
Four 'Cats were in attendance over the weekend in Juan Camilo Perez Gongora, Maxwell Kachkarov, Udday Singh and Alejandro Solares.
Davidson's efforts at the ITA's were highlighted by Juan Camilo Perez Gongora picking up a win in his first match via 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory over UNC Greensboro before suffering a 6-4, 6-4 loss to UNC Friday afternoon. After falling 6-1, 6-1 to an Elon athlete to start the day, Alejandro Solares battled to a 6-4, 6-7, 5-7 (13-11) win over Furman to close out the opening day.
The Wildcats will return to action at UNC Wilmington from Oct. 27 - Oct. 29 in their second-to-last competition of the fall season.
