Swimming and Diving Hosts VMI on Senior Day Saturday

It will be Senior Day Saturday when the Davidson swimming and diving teams host VMI Saturday at 1 p.m. in Cannon Pool.
The Wildcats will honor their 10 members of the 2023 class at 12:45 p.m.
Saturday's meet is the Wildcats' third and final home meet of the year as the Wildcats build toward the Atlantic 10 championships, set for Feb. 15-18 in Geneva, Ohio.
This year's seniors are Thomas Broderick, Seth Carden, Abby Francis, Marissa Lassell, Lila McGrath, Selena Nishihata, Kate Pottle, Maurilio Saddoud, Drew Sheldon and Shelby Stanley.
LAST TIME OUT
Davidson's swimmers competed at William & Mary last week, led by Dylan Felt, who won two events, set two records and earned Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week honors.
The freshman from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., set the Davidson record in the 1,000 free with a winning time of 9:24.07 and set the William & Mary pool record with his 500 free win (4:31.58). Felt was also part of a third win, teaming with Ben McClain, Ian Brann and Guil Ware to win the 200 free relay in 1:24.21.
In all, the Wildcats won 16 events Saturday and also earned a 148-113 men's team win.
McClain claimed the 100 and 200 free wins with swims of 46.55 and 1:41.47, respectively. Other men's wins came from Miles Charles (100 fly, 50.12), Jeremy Kemp (200 back, 1:51.60), Fletcher Smith (200 fly, 1:51.50) and Ware (50 free, 21.37). Liam McDonough, Andrew Schou, Charles and Ware won the 200 medley relay (1:32.31), and Owen Curry's second-place swim gave the Wildcats a 1-2 finish in the 1,000.
For the Wildcat women, Sylvia Stewart-Bates earned the win in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:25.14, and she helped the Wildcats go 1-2 in the 500, as Kate Pottle won in 5:05.74. Martha Tripsa won the 50 free in 24.11, Shelby Stanley took the 100 fly in 55.60 and Cynthia Huang touched first in the 400 IM (4:30.70).
Addy Donaldson, Leah Sandock, Stanley and Tripsa won the 200 free relay in 1:35.52.
Meanwhile, Davidson's divers competed in a dual at South Carolina, with James Gourlay and Annica Valmassei's finishes leading the way.
