Pinzon Picks Up Singles Victory in Opening Day Loss to DePaul

CHICAGO -- Davidson sophomore Nico Pinzon earned the Wildcats' lone victory on opening day Friday night, as the 'Cats fell 6-1 to the DePaul Blue Demons.
Pinzon, who earned four solo victories in his rookie season, started off his sophomore campaign with a two-set, 7-6, 6-4 victory at court six.
Davidson lost the doubles point to start off the night, despite Maxwell Kachkarov and Juan Camillo Perez Gongora earning a 6-2 victory at No. 1.
The Wildcats dropped their five other singles matches, as William Clark, Kachkarov, Alejandro Solares, Perez Gongora and Jerry Wang started at courts one through five, respectively.

Davidson will stay in the Windy City for the weekend and meet University of Illinois Chicago tomorrow at 5 p.m. CST.
