Singh Wins League's Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Davidson rookie Udday Singh clinched the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week title, the league office announced Tuesday.
This honor marks the first for Singh in his career, as the Chandigarh, India native picked up a doubles victory at Wofford on Sunday and a singles win against JMU last Wednesday.
From court three, Singh earned a two-set 6-4, 6-4 singles win against the Dukes on the Davidson Tennis Courts last week, before helping doubles partner, Alejandro Solares, earn a 6-3 doubles decision on Sunday from the top duo spot.
This season, Singh is 2-0 in singles play at No. 2 and 4-5 from court three. The rookie is also 5-5 overall this year in doubles play.
