RADFORD, VA. - Davidson women's tennis clinched their fifth straight win after edging Radford, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon on the road. This is the second consecutive undefeated weekend for the 'Cats, who move to 6-2 on the season.
"Today was another tough match, but we pulled it out," head coach Susanne Depka said,. "It started with the doubles point, winning at No. 2 in a tiebreak. Franny at No. 5 pulled her match out to clinch the team win. The conditions were not ideal and there were many mental challenges, but we were super strong mentally again. It was a great weekend for our team, and I can't say enough how proud I am of them for taking everything from practice and our meetings into matches. I look forward to where they go from here."
The duos of Elizabeth Truluck and Mira Gladstone and Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea took home the doubles point with 7-6 (5) and 6-2 victories, respectively. Gladstone and Shea would go on to win their singles matches. Kavya Patel also won her singles match with a pair of 6-1, 6-1 set victories.
