'Cats Prep for Cincinnati, Senior Day

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- With three straight wins to open up the season for the first time since 2019, the Davidson Wildcats are set to meet Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon for their final home game in the month of February.
Opening draw is scheduled for 12 p.m. with live stats and broadcast coverage available at davidsonwildcats.com/coverage.Â
SENIOR DAY
Davidson will celebrate its nine seniors from the class of 2022 on Sunday before the Wildcats' game against Cincinnati. Katy Morris, Megan Filter, Sarah Hardy, Lauren Arkell, Emily Weld, Emma Johnson and tri-captains Hayden Callahan, Gianna New and Jane DiGregorio will all be celebrated beginning at approximately 11:45 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Davidson Wildcats out shot Campbell University 41-29 on Wednesday night, en route to a 16-13 victory for their third straight win and first 3-0 start since 2019. Julianne Carey ran Davidson's offense with 11 draw controls, while scoring five points off one goal and four assists. Gianna New had a game-high six points with five goals and one assist, while Grace Fahey and Erin Cooke also finished with five points each. On the draw, New had two wins and freshman Riley Moore added four.
KNOW THE FOE
Cincinnati is 1-3 on the young season, picking up its first win of the year on Friday night against Gardner-Webb. The all-time series against the Bearcats is tied 1-1, as the Wildcats took the first round, 11-5 in 2008, while Cincinnati won the second match up 13-10 in 2011. Cincinnati's Kylie Nause leads her squad so far this season with 14 points off 14 goals.
STATS WATCH
Through three games, Amanda Monahan ranks third in the A-10 in save percentage (.500) and fourth in total saves (29). Taking home the A-10's first Defensive Player of the Week honor, Monahan also sits 35th nationally in saves per game (9.67). As a team, the Wildcats rank seventh in the country, averaging 10.00 assists per game, while Erin Cooke ranks sixth individually, with nine assists already this year.
