
Wildcats Ready for A-10 Play with Fordham on New Year's Day

The Wildcats and Rams will meet inside Rose Hill Gymnasium in the Bronx, and the contest will air live on CBS Sports Network.
THE SERIES
- The Wildcats' conference rival, Fordham, holds the all-time series record at a 12-5 advantage.
- Dating back to the 2018-19 season, the 'Cats and Rams exchanged one win per meeting until Fordham began a three-game win streak over the 'Cats from Jan. 31, 2021 to Feb. 26,2022.
- On average, the Wildcats score 55.6 points per game against the Rams, but scored 60 or more points in their three most recent wins in the series.
- A win would mark Davidson's fifth straight season starting off Atlantic 10 play at 1-0 and be the Wildcats' first win over the Rams since December 2020.
WHAT TO KNOW
LAST TIME OUT... Elle Sutphin scored a game-high 24 points, and Suzi-Rose Deegan added 19 as the Davidson Wildcats earned a 65-62 win over Morgan State Wednesday evening in Belk Arena. The win marked the women's basketball program's 500th all-time, as the Wildcats improved to 7-7 to end the non-conference portion of the schedule.
DECEMBER TO REMEMBER... The Wildcats have won five of their last six contests in December, after going 2-6 in the month of November. Davidson's magical month has included wins over Jacksonville State, UNC Greensboro, Elon, cross-county rival Charlotte & Morgan State, while the lone loss came to #6 NC State. The 'Cats have averaged 68.1 points per game, shot 45.8 percent overall and shot 50 percent or better in three games during this December stretch.
SUTPHIN'S SURGING... Redshirt-junior Elle Sutphin is producing at a high level in her second season with the Wildcats. With 692 career points through 47 games in a Davidson uniform, Sutphin is averaging 17.8 points per game this season while shooting 52 percent from the field. The North Carolina native has scored the first two double-doubles of her career this year, while ranking 24th in the nation in total points (249) and 13th in made field goals (98).
ON THE HORIZON... Other milestones in the distance for Davidson are two newcomers to the 1,000-point club, as fifth year Chloe Welch has 973 career points to date and senior Suzi-Rose Deegan has 913. Deegan is averaging 13.1 points per game during her senior season, and has scored in double-figures 10 times this year.
