WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's tennis team concluded its fall 2022 campaign this weekend, wrapping things up at the Seahawk Classic at UNC Wilmington.
"We did some really good things and made some great strides throughout the weekend, we also have some areas to continue to build on before we break for the holiday," said head coach Susanne Depka. "I look forward to continuing to improve and grow in order to develop strong habits so we are confident and well prepared for the spring season."
Throughout the invitational, Davidson competed against Appalachian State, VCU, Longwood and the host Seahawks.
Overall, Wildcat sophomore Kavya Patel highlighted the trip, picking up two doubles victories and a singles win. With her partner Daniela Porges, the duo earned a court three win against App State, while Patel later teamed up with Franny Shea to win a 6-1 decision against Longwood. On the singles courts, Patel also won against UNC Wilmington (4-6, 6-2, 10-8).
Shea also showed out for the 'Cats, as the senior earned a 7-6 (6), 6-2 win against UNC Wilmington while also teaming up with Emma Heiderscheit for a 6-4 win over VCU in doubles play.
