Wildcats Post 12 Wins on First Day in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Davidson Wildcats won 12 events Friday on the first day of the two-day Richmond Duals that saw the Davidson women facing Richmond and the men competing against George Mason.
Shelby Stanley, Abby Francis and Dylan Felt were two-event winners for the Wildcats.
For the Davidson women, Stanley won the 100 and 200 fly events in 56.73 and 2:04.86, respectively, while Francis won the 200 free (1:52.60) and led a 1-4 Davidson finish in the 200 IM (2:08.21).
Other wins came from Anna Newman in the 100 breast (1:05.66), Rani Greer in the 200 breast (2:23.80), Kate Pottle in the 500 free (5:02.75) and Sylvia Stewart-Bates in the 1,650 free (17:21.20). Diver Annica Valmassei was first in the 3-meter event (262.05).
Richmond prevailed in the women's team score by a 157-142 margin and advanced to face Duquesne Saturday, while the Wildcats will meet George Mason.
For the Wildcat men, Felt continued his strong start to his college career with wins in the 200 free (1:40.00) and 1,650 free (15:59.29). Wildcats Fletcher Smith and Miles Charles touched the wall in 1:52.56 to tie for the 200 fly win.
The Wildcat men trail George Mason 108.5 to 77.5 entering the second day of their two-day meet.
