'Cats Place Fourth at Elon Opener

ELON, N.C. – The Davidson women's cross country team placed fourth overall in a field of 10 teams in their 2021 season debut at the Elon Cross Country "Friday Night Lights" Opener on Friday night.
Freshman Jordan Reed rounded out the Top-20 finishers with a 14:35.2 time for a 4k cross country effort. A pair of junior 'Cats stopped the clock next with Kelsey Troutman and Natalie Abernathy finishing 25th and 27th with times of 14:46.7 and 14:53.4 respectively.
Freshman Abigail Nasse and sophomore Hallie Stewart rounded out the top five finishers for Davidson, coming home in the 28th and 30th positions.
Davidson tallied 122 points to finish behind Duke, host Elon and ECU.

The team is back in action on Friday, Sept. 17 at the Adidas XC Challenge hosted at WakeMed Hospital in Cary, N.C.
