Anthony and Gaither to Compete at NCAA East Prelims Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pair of men's hurdlers are set to compete at the 2021 NCAA East Preliminary Meet Wednesday night at Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.
School record holder and redshirt freshman Bryce Anthony, and redshirt sophomore Cory Gaither are slated to compete in the 400-meter hurdles at 8:20 p.m.
Anthony made the cut with a dominant weekend at the Atlantic 10 Championship where he broke the program record twice, smashing it in the finals to win the conference crown at 51.13 seconds and easily make the field for the NCAA East meet. Gaither lowered his personal best to 52.23 seconds at the Aggie Twilight Meet to earn his spot among the 48 best hurdlers in the region.
The Davidson duo join former 400-meter hurdler and record-holder, Sean Caveney '19, to compete at regionals in the event. Caveney competed for the Wildcats in 2018, his junior season.
The event is slated to start at 8:20 p.m. Gaither is in the second to last heat, Anthony will enter the blocks in the final section.
