DAVIDSON, N.C. – Unbeaten in five of the last six, Davidson will conclude its 2021 regular season Saturday with a 3 p.m. "Senior Day" tilt against league foe George Washington inside Alumni Stadium.
The winner of the regular season finale will finish first in the Atlantic 10's Central Division, earning a spot in next week's four-team conference tournament.
Prior to the contest, Davidson will honor its 2021 Senior Class – Hugh Chatham, Jamie DiLuzio, Quinn Dudek, Alan Morales and Zach Schewe.
Coming off a pair of shutouts, including a 2-0 blanking of VCU in Richmond over the weekend, the Wildcats enter 3-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in Atlantic 10 play.
The 'Cats are led offensively by junior Lucas Hauth, who has found the back of the net five times this season, which is second-best in the conference. A native of Fleming Island, Fla., Hauth has scored in three straight, including a pair of game-winners.
Goalkeeper Giacomo Piccardo has been just as impressive for Davidson on the defensive end as the sophomore has not allowed a goal in almost 259 minutes. During his scoreless streak, Piccardo has faced 41 shots, while making 13 saves.
The Wildcats and Colonials played to a 1-1 (2ot) draw three weeks ago in our nation's capital.
Despite scoring just five goals this season, George Washington comes in 3-2-2 and 2-1-2.
Oscar Haynes Brown paces this Colonials with three goals.
