FAIRFAX, Va. — Hailey Braemer scored in the 34th minute Sunday afternoon to help lead Davidson past George Mason 1-0 in Atlantic 10 women's soccer.
It's the Wildcats' third win in five league games and completes the season sweep of the Patriots. Davidson won the teams' first meeting 3-1 on March 7.
"Really happy for the players to get a win on the road against a really tough George Mason team," said Davidson coach Adam Denton.
Braemer's goal came on an assist from Gretchen Pearson, who crossed the ball into the box from the right side. Braemer finished it bottom right. It was Braemer's third goal of the season, tying her for the team lead with Kendall Bushick.
"Some really good work from Gretchen Pearson, who cut inside and a great cross to the back post, followed by a well-timed run and a first-time finish by Braemer," said Denton.
Denton was pleased with his team's defensive effort as well, and goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch made four saves in the shutout.
Davidson held an 11-8 shots advantage and a 6-5 edge in corners. The teams were even with four shots on goal apiece.
