Wrestling Hosts Quad Meet Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson wrestling hosts Clarion, Chattanooga and Rutgers Saturday for their first home meet of the 2021 Centennial Celebration season. The Wildcats kicked off the season last week at the Hokie Open.
"We are very encouraged about our performance this past weekend," head coach Andy Lausier said. "Great effort and massive improvements all the way around. Wins lead to confidence, and confidence leads to more wins.
"That excitement will carry over to this weekend as we host our first quad since I've arrived. We have four teams, three conferences, and one great day of wrestling coming to Belk Arena. We are excited to showcase Davidson wrestling, and equally as excited to showcase high level D1 wrestling to our community."
The Quad Meet will be live streamed on Davidson All-Access. Round One begins at 10 am ET, followed by Round Two at 11:30 and Round Three at 1 pm. The schedule is as follows:

At the Southeast Open, Fernicola took first place, posting a 4-0 record and defeating his final opponent by decision to claim the top spot in the heavyweight class. Garrett Stewart took second in the 149-pound class, and Noah Frack was two spots below him in fourth place. In the 157-pound class, third place went to Davidson's Bryce Sanderlin. Two Wildcats placed sixth, Kyle Gorant in the open division and Gavin Damaso in the 149-pound class.
