DAVIDSON, N.C. – Two Davidson scholar-athletes have been selected to participate in the inaugural Vanderbilt Accelerator Business Fellowship for Student-Athletes, hosted by the Owens Graduate School of Management. Sophomores, Shannon Lytle (Women's Soccer) and Wyatt Hall (Football), will represent the Davidson Career Advantage program at the two-week fellowship to be held in Nashville this May.

Derived from the four-week Vanderbilt Accelerator, the business fellowship will equip student-athletes with the skills, network, and support needed to reach their full potential. Fellows are fully immersed in a transformational living-learning experience, and will take foundational and advanced courses from renowned Vanderbilt faculty, learn directly from business executives, and apply new skills to real consulting projects with companies such as Starbucks and American Airlines.

Student-athletes from across the country will gather to participate in the program, grow their networks, and build a foundation for future careers. In addition to attending classes and participating in hands-on projects, students will also receive individual career advising, professional development training, and will attend networking events with local employers.

"The Vanderbilt Accelerator Business Fellowship for Student-Athletes provides a tremendous opportunity to partner with a great institution as well as showcase the best of Davidson scholar-athletes and 'Athletics Done Right.' We are thrilled to have both Shannon and Wyatt serving as ambassadors for Davidson Athletics and look forward to building a lasting relationship through the Vanderbilt Accelerator. I would also like to commend both Jamie Stamey and Josh King from our Center for Career Development for their forward-thinking and innovative commitment to holistic career services for our scholar-athletes," said Davidson Director of Athletics, Chris Clunie.

"Shannon is a great example of what it means to be a scholar-athlete at Davidson—an academic institution that not only builds intelligent contributors in academia, but also productive citizens who make the world, practically, a better place. It is always wonderful for us to see how our scholar-athletes progress through their time here, both as players and as people. She has demonstrated that she is a person of excellence, integrity, and commitment and we are proud of how her hard work has led her to this opportunity. We are excited for her to continue to invest in and prepare for her life and career after Davidson." – Davidson Women's Soccer Head Coach, Adam Denton

"Our program is extremely excited for Wyatt! The Accelerator Business Fellowship is an extremely selective program, operated out of The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Wyatt is a great representation of the scholar athletes here at Davidson, and the world class opportunities that are granted to them. The Fellowship will allow Wyatt and a team of student athletes across the country to work with some of our country's top organizations and companies. We could not be prouder of Wyatt, there is no doubt that this experience will push him and add immeasurable value to his Davidson College experience.
