DAVIDSON – Corey Bass has been named the Associate Director for Football Development at Davidson College as announced Friday.
"Corey's love of the game of football and longstanding connection to Davidson College make him a great fit for this position," commented Jeff Kniple, Associate / Director of Athletic Development. "We are excited to introduce him to the Davidson football community in the coming weeks."
Bass brings over 15 years of dynamic leadership experience across sports administration, business development, and operations. In this strategic role, Corey will serve as a bridge between the football program and its broader community. His primary focus is threefold: securing vital financial support for the program, fostering deep connections between players, coaches, and alumni, and overseeing comprehensive professional development initiatives to prepare student-athletes for success beyond the field.
Most recently, Corey served as Director of Operations for Clear 28 Agency, where he oversaw client management and strategic growth initiatives for athlete and brand partners.
A proven fundraiser and relationship builder, Corey has a track record of driving record-breaking engagement. As the Associate Athletic Director for Fundraising at High Point University, he led the department to an all-time high in annual dollars raised, securing over $643,000 while establishing a new record for the number of donors to HPU Athletics. His ability to cultivate meaningful partnerships is further evidenced by his tenure as Business Development Manager for the Charlotte Knights, where he helped close over $3.5 million in corporate partnerships and led efforts to retain 90% of sponsor revenue during the challenging operational landscape of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Corey possesses a unique understanding of the collegiate football landscape, having served in football operations at both the FBS and FCS levels. As Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations at Ball State University and Director of Football Operations at Elon University, he managed significant operating budgets, coordinated team travel, and served as the liaison for community service and donor activities. This operational expertise allows him to authentically connect with coaching staff and understand the day-to-day needs of student-athletes.
His background also includes significant business development roles with Learfield Sports at UNC, where he was instrumental in fulfilling over $10 million in sponsorship agreements, and IMG College at East Carolina University.
Corey is a two-time graduate of East Carolina University, holding a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
A former football letterwinner himself, Corey brings a personal passion for the sport and a commitment to the holistic development of scholar-athletes.
